Translators on the Cover report – EU language translated versions

The report has now been published in all 24 official EU languages and is available to download for free on this page/.  (Press the "Download and languages" button to access it).

Its contents are very important as it looks at multilingualism and translation in Europe, and at policies and professionals' working conditions in the literary, performing arts and audiovisual translation sectors, and makes proposals to improve the situation all around the EU.

Equally important in our view, is the quality of the translated versions of the report, for wider accessibility, and to enable associations and professionals to use the report in discussions and negotiations with governmental institutions and industry stakeholders, such as publishers' organisations and AV localisation LSPs, in their own countries.

So we ask if you could take a close look at the version in your own language and give us your feedback on the following aspects, which we know have been an issue during the translation and reviewing processes:

1) terminology (especially EU and literary/AV translation terminology),
2) obvious linguistic or translation mistakes, and
3) overall readability (Is the document written in a way that encourages people to read it? Does it flow well?).

For the languages of countries where FIT Europe doesn't have members, please reach out to contacts among your association members or within your own professional networks to see if they can help.

We look forward to your thoughts on this important report and thank you in advance for your efforts on this.

Bien confraternellement, best wishes, saludos cordiales,
Sandra Mouton, FIT Europe, Secrétaire générale / Secretary General, sandra.mouton@fit-europe-rc.org secgen@fit-europe-rc.org  fit-europe-rc.org
