Dansk PEN Afrika stiftet
Dansk PEN Afrika blev stiftet den 24. august 2022 på DPU i Emdrup. Præsident for Dansk PEN Cathrine Hasse erklærede netværket for stiftet i overværelse af de øvrige tilstedeværende.

Formålet med Dansk PEN Afrika er at etablere en dialog med forfulgte skribenter og forlæggere på det afrikanske kontinent. Dansk PEN arbejder også for sproglig diversitet, også i Afrika. 

Dansk PEN-A har også til formål at samarbejde med International PEN, for eksempel med Writers in Prison komitéen. Dansk PEN-A skal blandt andet følge den litterære udvikling i udvalgte områder i Afrika og formidle information til det øvrige Pen-netværk. Dansk PEN-A vil blandt andet afholde et årligt møde med udenrigsredaktører på danske medier.

Dansk PEN Afrika vil også skrive til fængslede æresmedlemmer, udarbejde protestskrivelser til regeringer, lave lokale arrangementer med forfattere med henblik på at formidle afrikansk litteratur m.v.

Dansk PEN Afrika vil opdyrke kontakter til PEN-centre og PEN-aktive personer i Afrika.

Danish PEN Africa established
Danish PEN Africa was established on 24th of August 2022 at the Aarhus University campus in Copenhagen, DPU. The President of Danish PEN Cathrine Hasse declared the network for founded in the presence of the other participants in the meeting.

The mission of Danish PEN Africa is to create dialogues with persecuted writers and publishers on the African continent. Danish PEN also works for linguistic diversity, also in Africa. 

The mission of Danish PEN Africa is also to cooperate with International PEN, for example with the Writers in Prison Committee. Danish PEN Africa will amongst other activities follow the literary development in selected areas in Africa and facilitate information to the PEN network in general. 

Danish PEN Africa will also organize an annual meeting with the editors of foreign affairs at Danish media.

Danish PEN Africa will also correspond with members of honor in jail, publish letters of protest to governments, arrange meetings with writers to communicate African literature, etc.

Danish PEN Africa will take contact to PEN centres in Africa and to individuals active in PEN in Africa.
